As well as giving regularly to Womens Aid and supporting global humanitarian appeals with donations, we also fund reforestation projects with Ecologi and the Eden Reforestation Project.

Madagascar is high on the conservation agenda because 90% of its primary forests have been destroyed. The destruction of coastal mangrove estuaries has had a knock-on effect in causing mudflats to wash into the ocean and destroy previously productive fisheries. Not only has this harmed the local economy but it has also made coastal communities vulnerable to extreme weather events like hurricanes and flooding. The rich biodiversity of deciduous forests inland is also under threat from deforestation.

Conservation and caring for the environment is important to us. We look after our own beautiful Scottish woodlands by supporting an ecosystem where native trees and wildflowers can grow and thrive. By supporting reforestation projects around the world, we can also help to support employment for local communities, protect biodiversity and reduce carbon pollution on a broader scale.
